Vol. 526 No. 6

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Ceist:

402 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Education and Science when his Department will make contact with St. Francis special school, Beaufort, County Kerry as outlined in his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 423 of 17 October 2000. [27435/00]

My Department's inspectorate has been in contact with the school authorities in relation to the matter referred to by the Deputy. The school authorities have agreed to provide educational services for pupils attending the special class for severe-profound general learning disability through the month of July.

My Department will grant aid the school as necessary in order to provide for the employment of teachers and child care support as required for this extended period.
