Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy McGinley – the failure of the Department of Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands to provide the funding to complete renovation works on Doe Castle, County Donegal; (2) Deputy Olivia Mitchell – the urgent need for clarification of the compensation arrangements for taxi drivers and of the local authorities who will have to repay licence money; (3) Deputy Breeda Moynihan-Cronin – the need for work to commence on a new amalgamated national school for Rathmore, County Kerry; (4) Deputy Seán Ryan – the urgent need for additional gardaí and resources for Swords, Balbriggan and Malahide Garda stations; (5) Deputy Belton – the matter of the future of St. Joseph's secondary school, Newtownforbes, County Longford; (6) Deputy Keaveney – the need for the Department of the Marine and Natural Resources to both fund obligatory safety courses for all entrants into the marine sector and to increase the research spend and implementation of all aspects of marine safety; (7) Deputy Deenihan – the need to provide the necessary staffing requirement at the State laboratory to ensure against delays in the provision of reports on autopsies; (8) Deputy Neville – the need to restrict paracetamol products to pharmacies; (9) Deputy Richard Bruton – the threatened industrial action by nursing staff in the casualty department of Beaumont hospital; (10) Deputy Deasy – the need to distribute copies of the collection of the Folklore Commission to the various library committees throughout the country; (11) Deputy Sargent – that the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands establish a budget line and co-operative structures to underwrite the outstanding overheads associated with developing and operating the Irish seal sanctuary, long established but with a new site, courtesy of Fingal County Council, in Donabate; (12) Deputy Enright – the payment of a higher education maintenance grant to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly; (13) Deputy Coveney – the need to set up an independent living fund for those with disabilities who are reliant on personal assistants for a quality of life.

The matters raised by Deputies Breeda Moynihan-Cronin, Enright, Richard Bruton and McGinley have been selected for discussion.
