Vol. 527 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Ulick Burke

Ceist:

81 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will review a penalty imposed on a person (details supplied) in County Galway for the 2000 beef premia payments in view of the fact that one animal was incorrectly and mistakenly listed on the application form as female rather than male; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27852/00]

The person concerned submitted an application for first age special beef premium in respect of eight animals on 13 January 2000. During the course of an on-farm inspection one of the animals listed was found to be female resulting in the exclusion of the applicant from the special beef premium scheme for two years. The producer concerned appealed this exclusion to the district inspector who is currently reviewing the case. If the person concerned is not satisfied with the outcome of the review he will have the option of having his case independently examined by the headage and premia appeals unit.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

82 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 2000 cattle and sheep headage. [27877/00]

The 2000 area aid application for the person named has been fully processed with no outstanding errors, and the area for payment purposes has been determined at 55.37 hectares. Any payments due will issue as soon as possible.
