Written Answers. - Hospital Investigations.

John McGuinness

Ceist:

102 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have investigations made into the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who is a patient in St. Canice's Hospital, Kilkenny, to determine if he can be placed in a proper treatment centre for drugs and alcohol abuse; if a report can be prepared on two incidents which occurred in the hospital on 19 and 22 November 2000 concerning this person; and if he will make a statement on the availability of support and services for such patients and their families in the South Eastern Health Board area. [27908/00]

This is a matter for the South Eastern Health Board and I have therefore referred this matter to the chief executive officer of the South Eastern Health Board and have requested him to reply directly to the Deputy.

Ceist:

103 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have investigations made, as a matter of urgency, into the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and if an assessment can be made of her requirements with a view to granting her home care. [27909/00]

The provision of health services in the Kilkenny area is a matter for the South Eastern Health Board.

I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate this case and respond to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
