Vol. 527 No. 2

Written Answers. - Third Generation Licences.

Jack Wall

Ceist:

21 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Finance if he has received any communication from the Director of Telecommunications Regulation in relation to the allocation of so called third generation licences; his view in relation to the fee which should be charged for such licences; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28011/00]

As the Deputy is aware, under the existing legislation my role is restricted to the giving of my consent to the charging of a fee for such licences. I have not as yet received any communication from the regulator in this regard. I await a request for such consent before I form a view on the level of a fee.
