132 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the proposals he has to introduce a training allowance for new entrants on agricultural training courses; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28980/00]
Statutory responsibility for the provision of agricultural training rests with Teagasc. Funding for that purpose is provided to Teagasc and it is a matter for that body to decide on the financial assistance to be made available for students undertaking agricultural training.
