Vol. 527 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

144 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive the remainder of special beef premium for 1999 on 19 remaining animals in view of the fact that all difficulties with the area aid unit were resolved in July 2000; and when the extensification payment for 1999 will issue. [28212/00]

The 1999 area aid application for the person named has been fully processed with no outstanding errors and the area for payment purposes has been determined at 56.81 hectares.

The person concerned submitted an application for the 2nd age special beef premium in respect of 26 animals on 2 June 1999. Payment in respect of 9.32 animals issued in three cheques on 1 November 1999, 7 February 2000, and 30 April 2000. The payment in respect of the remainder of animals on the special beef premium claim was authorised on 1 December 2000 and the producer will receive payment in the coming days. A further payment will issue in the coming weeks in relation to the remainder of the agri-monetary compensation due.
Now that outstanding premium issues in relation to area aid and special beef premium have been resolved extensification premium calculated at a rate of £29.86 per eligible animal applied on for special beef premium in 1999 will issue in the coming weeks.
