214 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will ensure that parity is maintained under the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness between the nursing profession and their retired colleagues; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28301/00]

The position is that where adjustments are made to the salaries applicable to nursing grades in which people served before their retirement, retired nurses who served in such grades should benefit from those increases, in accordance with standard parity criteria.
