232 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason that operations were cancelled in Merlin Park Hospital, County Galway for the week ending 26 November 2000; and the steps that will be taken to ensure that this situation does not recur. [28330/00]
The provision of medical treatment for eligible persons is, in this instance, the statutory responsi bility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this matter and reply to the Deputy directly.
