241 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has given consideration to an expansion of the number of ambulance bases serving Mayo and north Galway; the level of service provided by each base presently; his views on whether an expansion of the number of bases would be beneficial to a better service; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 240 and 241 together.
The issues raised by the Deputy are the responsibility in the first instance of the Western Health Board. I have, therefore, advised the chief executive officer of the board to look into these matters and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
