251 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Health and Children if his Department will fund the proposal from the Mid-Western Health Board to establish a service for adults with cystic fibrosis in the health board area; when he received the submission from the board in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The provision of medical services is the statutory responsibility of the Mid-Western Health Board in the first instance.

I understand that a report of a review group on services for adults with cystic fibrosis was brought before the board in October 2000 and adopted, and will shortly be formally submitted to my Department.
