92 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the steps being taken to meet the commitment given in the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness to establish a monitoring committee in each DVO area to review the progress of the Disease Eradication Programme at local level; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Proposals contained in the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness relating to the TB and brucellosis eradication programmes, including that referred to by the Deputy, are currently being discussed by my Department with the farming organisations in the context of the Animal Health Forum.

I am hopeful that these discussions can be concluded shortly.
