143 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of meetings he has held with his ministerial counterpart in the Northern Ireland Executive; the topics that were discussed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30370/00]
I have met with my Northern Ireland counterpart, Minister Bairbre de Brún, three times this year – in February, July and November.
We discussed issues concerning the Food Safety Promotion Board, which is one of the six North-South Implementation Bodies, together with a number of other issues which constitute areas for enhanced North-South co-operation in health. These areas are cancer research, health promotion, accident and emergency services, major emergencies and high technology equipment.
