Brian O'Shea

Ceist:

153 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the proposals he has for the completion of the ring road at Tramore, County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30168/00]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 152 and 153 together.

Proposals were sought from a number of authorities following the announcement in Action on Housing of a new investment programme for non-national road schemes supporting residential and other developments.

The Tramore ring road, phase four, and the outer ring road, Waterford are amongst the 43 projects which have recently been selected for funding under this programme. The maximum grant aid available is 75% with the balance of funding to be met by local authorities.

Specific allocations under the new programme will be commenced in the context of the non-national road grant allocations for 2001 early next year.
