173 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the progress which has been made to provide two high support hostels in Dublin for homeless people suffering from addictions, for which £2.5 million was provided in Budget 2000. [30207/00]
A special allocation of £5 million was made available to Dublin Corporation in last year's budget for the provision of two high support hostels for homeless people suffering from drug and alcohol abuse. Dublin Corporation, in co-operation with other agencies, is currently trying to source suitable premises for these hostels and is hopeful that suitable premises will be sourced shortly.
