186 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the funding his Department has provided or approved for the acquisition of lands at Rathquarter, in the Sligo urban area, for local authority housing, in the period 1994 to 2000; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I understand from Sligo Corporation that land in their ownership at Rathquarter was purchased approximately 20 years ago. In the period 1994-2000 two separate schemes of 20 houses were completed and a 26 house scheme is currently under construction. The total land cost attributed to these three schemes amounts to £127,000 and has been funded as part of the overall capital cost of the projects.
