Before coming to the Order of Business, I propose to deal with a motion under Standing Order 31 from Deputy Shatter. I call on Deputy Shatter to state the matter.
Request to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
I move that the Dáil be adjourned under Standing Order 31 to discuss an important matter of public interest requiring urgent consideration, that is, the circumstances surrounding the temporary release from prison of the four persons convicted of the killing of Garda Jerry McCabe.
Having considered the matter fully, I do not consider it to be contemplated by Standing Order 31 and, therefore, I cannot grant leave to move the motion.
