232 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the position in relation to an application by a person (details supplied) in County Donegal for grant aid; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30174/00]

An application for a capital grant under the self-employed child care providers measure of my Department's equal opportunities child care programme 2000 to 2006 was received from the person named on 19 September 2000.

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that on 12 December 2000, I approved the award of £20,000 in respect of this grant application. My Department's equal opportunities child care section will be in touch to inform the applicant of the decision and in relation to drawing down of the grant and the next stage in the process.
