Vol. 528 No. 3

Written Answers. - Harbours and Piers.

Brian O'Shea

Ceist:

55 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the smaller harbours and landing places on the County Waterford coast which will benefit under the national development plan programme that provides for expenditure for such harbours and landing places; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30116/00]

Funding is being provided under my Department's fishery harbours development programme this year for works at Ardmore and Tramore, County Waterford. The provision of funding for works at other locations in the county will receive careful consideration in the drawing up of harbour development programmes for 2001 and future years, having regard to the overall development needs of fishery harbours generally and the funding available for such works.

Ceist:

56 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources further to Parliamentary Question No. 107 of 5 December 2000, the amount of money committed to the fishery harbour centres under the national development plan programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30117/00]

As I indicated in my reply to Question No. 107 of 5 December 2000, the fishery harbour projects to be undertaken under the national development plan include developments at Killybegs, Castletownbere, Dunmore East and Rossaveel. While these projects will account for a significant proportion of the funding allocated for fishery harbours under the NDP, it is not possible, pending completion of detailed planning and tender documents, to give detailed cost estimates for them.
