369 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reasons for the delay in dealing with an application for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; if he will expedite the application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4751/01]
An application for a certificate of naturalisation from the person referred to by the Deputy was received in my Department on 20 January 1999 and is now at an advanced stage of the process. In this context, additional information has now been requested from the applicant's solicitor with a view to finalising the application in the near future. As soon as full consideration has been given to it, I will advise both the applicant and the Deputy of my decision.
