108 Mr. Coveney asked the Minister for Health and Children the initiatives currently being undertaken and planned for the next 12 months by the health promotion unit. [5494/01]
Written Answers. - Health Promotion.
The health promotion unit of my Department is continuing to undertake and develop a broad range of initiatives in line with the aims and objectives set out in the National Health Promotion Strategy 2000-2005. The strategy calls for action aimed at key population groups, such as, men's health, youth health and traveller health and particular topic areas, such as, smoking, alcohol, sexual health and established settings such as, the workplace, schools, health sector and the community. The unit will also continue to support voluntary organisations concerned with the promotion of population health and will continue its involvement in research and evaluation of health promotion related topics.
