Vol. 532 No. 2

Written Answers. - PRSI Contributions.

Ned O'Keeffe

Ceist:

123 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Finance if payment of an outstanding PRSI contribution by a person (details supplied) in County Cork has been notified to the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs by his Department as the person is awaiting consideration of his pension entitlements which are dependent on these recent PRSI contributions. [7031/01]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners, who collect PRSI contributions on behalf of the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs, that the person concerned advised them that he ceased self-employment as a farmer on 5 April 1999.

I am also informed that all payments made by him in respect of PRSI contributions have been notified to the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs, including a number of payments, relating to earlier years, which have only recently been paid to the Collector-General.
