143 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Health and Children the total advertising expenditure incurred by his Department and all State bodies and agencies under the aegis of his Department, for the year 2000; if he will specify each entity's expenditure on television advertising during that year and the spend on Irish language television advertising by each entity during the year. [7076/01]
The total advertising expenditure incurred by my Department during the year 2000 was £2,112,110. The Deputy will appreciate that advertising by the various agencies under the aegis of my Department is a matter for each body.
Of the total amount a sum of £649,000 was spent in relation to television advertising. While there were no advertisements on Irish language television, £12,196.80 was spent on advertising in an Irish language newspaper.
