196 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he has received an application under the Sports Capital Programme 2001 from the Glennane Hockey Club, Tallaght, Dublin 24 in respect of funding the club requires; when he is likely to make a decision in respect of this application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the sports capital programme administered by my Department, applications for funding were invited by way of public advertisement on 15 and 17 December 2000 and the closing date for receipt of applications under the 2001 programme was 9 February 2001. I can confirm that I have received an application under the 2001 programme from the organisation in question, one of over 1,450 received in total. The process of assessing the applications is about to begin in accordance with the guidelines, terms and conditions of the programme. I intend to make allocations under this programme as soon as possible after all applications have been assessed.
