Vol. 532 No. 2

Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

228 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the extent to which primary school space and accommodation exists in Kill, County Kildare, to meet current and future requirements; his plans or proposals to meet the ongoing needs in terms of quality permanent accommodation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7201/01]

My Department has recently approved the provision of an additional temporary classroom to cater for the short-term needs at Kill national school.

In addition, the property management section of the Office of Public Works which is acting on behalf of my Department in relation to site acquisitions generally, is currently exploring the possibility of acquiring a suitable site to cater for the long-term needs of the school. The school authorities will be kept informed of developments.
