I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Naughten – the need for the Minister for Health and Children to extend the scope of his announcement regarding batch 3741 Trivax vaccine to cover other batches of the vaccine which have given rise to the same level of concern regarding their toxicity; (2) Deputy Ring – the need to sanction funding for the extension to St. Colmcille's national school, Westport, County Mayo; (3) Deputy Perry – the need for a feasibility study to be carried out to establish the prospect of the re-opening of the Collooney to Claremorris railway line as a working railway line as part of the Sligo to Limerick route; (4) Deputy Deasy – that the Government provides financial assistance for the board of Waterford Airport to allow it to continue in business bearing in mind the difficulties it has recently encountered due to circumstances beyond its control and more recently the fall in passengers due to the outbreak of foot and mouth disease in Britain; (5) Deputy Wall – the present position on the application in relation to the amalgamation Scoil Eoin and Scoil Mhuire secondary schools in Athy, County Kildare; (6) Deputy Clune – the need for the Minister to address the anomalies that exist in Scoil an Spioraid Naoimh, Bishopstown, whereby the boys' school is classified as disadvantaged and the girls' school is not; (7) Deputy Jim Higgins – the disastrous consequences for the tourism industry of the worsening crisis in foot and mouth disease in Britain; (8) Deputy Neville – the introduction of a carer's payment which is not means tested; (9) Deputy Upton – the need for a statement on the recent correspondence between the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development and the Department of Health relating to the views expressed by the chief executive of the Food Safety Authority on the BSE slaughter scheme; (10) Deputy O'Shea – the need for the Minister for Public Enterprise to ensure that urgent financial problems at Waterford Airport are immediately addressed.
