Vol. 532 No. 4

Written Answers. - Rail Network.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

192 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if any safety deficiencies were found on the Limerick to Foynes railway line; and if the line is currently in use for commercial traffic to and from the port in Foynes, County Limerick. [7462/01]

The safety of the Limerick to Foynes railway line and any other railway line is an operational matter for Iarnród Éireann and I have, therefore, no function in the matter. However, I understand from Iarnród Éireann that the Limerick to Foynes railway line remains open for commercial freight traffic and is safe for the operation of such traffic.
