305 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children when financial clearance will be granted for the post of consultant physician with a special interest in endocrinology at Waterford Regional Hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7433/01]
The provision of services at Waterford Regional Hospital is a matter for the South Eastern Health Board. The board has submitted an application for the approval of a consultant physician at the hospital. The post, which is subject to approval by Comhairle na nOspidéal, is being considered in the context of available resources and the priority accorded to it by the board.
