Vol. 532 No. 4

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Austin Currie

Ceist:

677 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason a letter from Deputy Currie dated 5 January 2001, acknowledged on 16 January 2001 and 25 January 2001, on behalf of parents in the Lucan, County Dublin, area who are concerned about school transport, has not elicited a reply; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8146/01]

The application and correspondence, in relation to the provision of school transport, referred to by the Deputy was forwarded to Bus Éireann for a report. I understand the report will be available to my Department shortly.

The Deputy will be informed of the outcome as soon as the report is received and assessed.

Liam Aylward

Ceist:

678 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will have investigations made into a complaint from the parents' council of a school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny with regard to overcrowding on the school bus; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8147/01]

My Department has requested a report from the transport liaison officer for County Kilkenny concerning this matter.

The Deputy will be advised of the position as soon as the report has been received and assessed.
