Vol. 532 No. 4

Written Answers. - Work Permits.

Brendan Howlin

Ceist:

82 Mr. Howlin asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment when it is expected that application forms for work permits and explanatory documents setting out the essential elements of Irish employment rights legislation and protection for workers will be available in a range of languages; the languages in which these documents will be available; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [7108/01]

It is expected that the new application forms should be available before the end of March. Work on the content of the information leaflet on employment rights is almost complete and they will be available as soon as translation is completed. Initially, it is envisaged that perhaps six to eight languages should suffice and these will reflect the main countries of origin of work permit holders such as Latvia, Russia and Poland.
