Ceist:

232 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reasons a new house grant application was rejected for persons (details supplied) in County Kerry for a house originally built in accordance with S.I. No. 34 of 1990. [8919/01]

A grant cannot be allowed in this case as, contrary to a condition of the scheme, the floor area of the house was found on inspection to exceed the maximum limit of 125 square metres.
