327 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has satisfied himself with the staffing levels at permanent level; and if it is his intention to increase staffing levels within the context of the national council for curriculum and assessment. [10803/01]
The national council for curriculum and assessment will be established on a statutory basis in the near future under the provisions of the Education Act, 1998. A revised staffing structure and increased staffing levels have been agreed for the council in this context. The provision includes a mix of permanent, contract and part-time staff.
I am satisfied that the new staffing structure and increased staffing levels will ensure that the new council will be capable of meeting its statutory obligations.
