105 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Finance when those parliamentary reporters in the Houses of the Oireachtas who passed an establishment examination in August 2000 will receive their certificates of establishment; the reasons for the delay; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have made inquiries in this matter with the Civil Service Commissioners. In the case of the parliamentary reporters, certificates of qualification issued on 9 April 2001, with effect from that date. The certificates of qualification state that the parliamentary reporters have been accepted as qualified for appointment to their positions. The Civil Service Commissioners regret the delay in issuing these certificates which was due to increased recruitment activity.
