Vol. 535 No. 2

Written Answers - Heritage Sites.

John McGuinness

Ceist:

189 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if, further to assurances given in the reply to a previous parliamentary question, she will state the progress made in extending the scheme of free access to heritage sites to all retired employees of Dúchas and the Office of Public Works; the steps taken in the past 12 months to ensure that this policy was implemented; the number of identity cards which have been issued; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [12574/01]

Arrangements have been made for a special card for retired staff of the Department so that those who enjoyed free access to Dúchas sites during their working lives should continue to enjoy this facility after retirement. The cards are currently being issued to retired staff.
