Ceist:94 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will increase the intake of physical education students at the University of Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11311/01]
Written Answers - Physical Education.
The intake to the degree programme in physical education in the University of Limerick was 44 in the current academic year. A similar intake for the next academic year is envisaged.
The supply and demand for second level teachers, including teachers of physical education, is the subject of ongoing review by my Depart ment in consultation with the Higher Education Authority. The intake to the physical education degree programme will be kept under review in the light of identified needs.
