Ceist:

120 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason EPT teachers are not entitled to start on the third increment of the teacher salary scale in view of the fact that they have the same teaching qualifications. [12305/01]

Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods):

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that, following agreement at the Teachers' Conciliation Council, all qualified eligible part-time teachers, EPTs, will receive "length of training" increments with effect from 1 September 2000.
