Vol. 536 No. 4

Written Answers. - Foreign Investment.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

126 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance if he is satisfied that Ireland remains attractive as a location for foreign investment with particular reference to investment from the United States in view of recent job losses in the high tech area; if he is further satisfied that fiscal policy here is sufficiently focused to deflect any further negative influences; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14450/01]

I am satisfied that Ireland continues to be an attractive location for foreign investment including investment from the USA. We have many advantages to offer foreign investors in addition to our pro-business tax approach. Various initiatives have been taken by Government to reinforce these advantages and continue to be taken in the future as circumstances require.
