Vol. 536 No. 4

Written Answers. - Home-School-Liaison Scheme.

Liam Aylward

Ceist:

199 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will approve the request from the board of management of a school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny for a special allocation of six hours per week for the provision of a home-school-liaison service; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14342/01]

All second level schools that are designated as disadvantaged have been invited to participate in the home-school-community liaison scheme and have been allocated additional teaching resources to facilitate their participation.

There are no plans to extend the home-school-community liaison scheme at second level. However, the needs of the school in question will be considered in the context of any future review of the scheme.
