128 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he has received an application for participation in the early retirement scheme from a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath; if so, the position in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An application from the person named was received in my Department on 6 April 2001. On examination of the application, a number of defects were found and the supporting documentation was incomplete.
My Department wrote to the person named on 24 April 2001, and again on 10 May 2001, advising him that because of the defects in his application it could not be deemed valid. It is open to the applicant to re-submit the application once the deficiencies have been rectified and the supporting document obtained.
