Vol. 537 No. 5
263 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Finance the reason a person (details supplied) in County Limerick is paying excessive income tax; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16782/01]
I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer has income from farming, which is taxable under self-assessment, and PAYE income. At the taxpayer's request, his PAYE allowance has been allocated to his PAYE income and his other allowances to his farming income.
The inspector contacted the taxpayer's agent who indicated that the taxpayer now wishes to have all his tax credits allocated to his PAYE income. An amended notice of tax credits and standard rate cut-off point for the current year was issued accordingly on 6 June 2001.
