293 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if funding has been allocated to the Southern Health Board for the development of a day care centre for the elderly in the Riverstown-Glanmire area of County Cork. [16566/01]
The Southern Health Board's development plan for services for older people, Ageing with Confidence, identifies the need to develop a number of day care centres across the board's area. The Riverstown-Glanmire area is earmarked for such a facility. Under the National Development Plan 2001-2006, a total of £35.487 million is being provided to the Southern Health Board for capital investment in the development of services for older people. It is a matter for the board to decide its priority development projects within the national development plan.
