Vol. 537 No. 5

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

John Perry

Ceist:

464 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 399 of 15 May 2001, he will again intervene with the Land Registry Office and have an application for registration for a person (details supplied) expedited; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16514/01]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this dealing refers to a transmission and an application under section 49 – that is, acquisition of title by virtue of long possession – of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, which was lodged on 23 April 2001.

I am further informed by the Land Registry that the documents received were not in order and were returned to the lodging solicitors on 29 May 2001 and that the application cannot proceed further until these documents have been re-lodged. However, I can assure the Deputy that, on receipt of these documents, the matter will receive further attention in the Land Registry.
