531 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will give final approval for the provision of three new science laboratories in Ardscoil Rís, Dublin 9; if he will also sanction the construction of a computer room in this school and provide finance to allow the school upgrade their security as requested by their insurance company; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department is currently awaiting receipt of tender documents in relation to the refurbishment of the science laboratories in the school referred to by the Deputy.
The school management authority has been asked to provide further information to my Department in order to progress its application for a computer room at the school. My Department has appointed a consultant to assess the security requirements in the school, based on the insurer's demands, and to submit a report, including costings, for the work required to upgrade the security at the school.
