Vol. 538 No. 2

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Michael Creed

Ceist:

145 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention had been drawn to the enrolment in September 2001 of a person (details supplied) in County Cork at a school (details supplied); and if he will make arrangements for the provision of additional resources including a resource teacher and a full time special needs assistant for the person in question. [17577/01]

My Department has not received an application for special support for the pupil referred to by the Deputy.

Any such request should be directed to the local inspector and the needs of the child in question will be fully investigated. Following consideration by the inspectorate, my Department will be in contact with the school authorities in relation to this matter.
