Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Fitzgerald – the serious situation regarding the European Youth Olympics which has resulted in the Irish track and field team being dropped from participation; (2) Deputy Howlin – the growing jobs crisis in Wexford following the announcement that Wexford Weavers is to close with the loss of 100 jobs and a number of other recent closures; (3) Deputy Browne (Wexford)– the closure of the weaving company in Wexford town with the loss of over 100 jobs; (4) Deputy Gregory – the need for an extra teaching post in St. Gabriel's national school, Cowper Street, Dublin 7, to ensure classes can be kept within the maximum 20:1 ratio with out the need to introduce mixed classes; and (5) Deputy Upton – the need for compulsory labelling, detailing the origin, rearing and processing of meat and meat products, to apply to all meat and meat products which are imported to Ireland from outside the European Union.

The matters raised by Deputies Howlin, Browne, Gregory and Fitzgerald have been selected for discussion.
