306 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding the provision of an extension to a school (details supplied) in County Wicklow based on five teachers; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17681/01]
The application for additional permanent accommodation by the school in question was examined in the planning and building unit of my Department and a letter issued to the board of management, outlining the proposed long-term accommodation to be provided. The board of management has appealed the decision of my Department in this regard and has recently submitted information to support its appeal. The long-term accommodation requirements of the school are being re-examined in the light of the information submitted and a decision will issue to the board as soon as possible. Temporary accommodation will be provided at the school to facilitate the appointment of an additional teacher from September 2001.
