347 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Education and Science the amount of funding which has been made available to the youth organis ations each year for the past three years; the amount which will be made available in 2001; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20725/01]
My Department provides funding for mainline youth services under the terms of the youth service grant scheme. Under this scheme grants are allocated to 35 national and major regional youth organisations which are in turn responsible for the allocation of funds to their various programmes, services and activities.
The information requested by the Deputy in respect of funding to youth organisations is given in the following tabular statement. Estimated amounts are given in respect of the 2001 allocations.
