Ahern asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if, further to Parliamentary Question 65 of 31 May 2001, she will indicate if her Department or any agency under the aegis of her Department funds a community group (details supplied); if so, if she is satisfied that the funding is being used solely for the approved use; if she will examine the publications of this group; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Donneycarney unemployed action group receives funding from FÁS via the community employment programme. The approval of projects and allocation of places under CE is a matter for FÁS as part of its responsibilities under the Labour Services Act, 1987, and I have no function in the matter. As I outlined in my previous response, I have no reason to believe that any of my Department's funding has been used for purposes other than those intended. However, in view of your further concerns in this matter I have asked FÁS to make further inquiries and report back to me.
