46 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 50 of 10 May 2001, in relation to the sudden closure of a business (details supplied), she will indicate if matters have been formally decided on by the Employment Appeals Tribunal on her behalf; and if she will report on the outcome. Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (Mr. T. Kitt)

No claims have as yet been submitted to the Employment Appeals Tribunal on behalf of employees of this company. An investigation of this matter was recently carried out by the labour inspectorate of my Department in respect of possible breaches of the Protection of Employment Act, 1977. The report of the investigation is being considered by my officials and a decision is expected shortly.
