Vol. 541 No. 2

Written Answers. - Central Fisheries Board.

Noel Ahern

Ceist:

197 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources his views on reports that the Central Fisheries Board is being moved from Glasnevin; if his attention has been drawn to objections by staff; if full consultation has taken or will take place with staff representatives before a decision is made; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21018/01]

I have asked the Central Fisheries Board to commence discussions with the staff with a view to relocating the headquarters to a location outside Dublin. I have made it clear from the outset that I am committed to exploring and progressing the relocation of the CFB headquarters on a partnership basis and in full consultation with the staff and the unions. I have met with the board and the chief executive officer and with the staff to discuss the matter. These discussions are ongoing.
